Hi, I’m Doug, the creator of Quilted Haven! Quilting has become a huge part of my life, and I’m excited to share this creative space with you.

My quilting journey began four years ago, as I recovered from back surgery. I needed something to keep my hands and mind busy, and when the quilting bug bit, I was all in! I’m self-taught, learning through trial, curiosity, and plenty of fabric scraps.

I was deeply inspired by my cousin, who made stunning quilts for my granddaughter and my mother. Seeing those quilts—the love stitched into them, the artistry of the designs—made me realize how meaningful quilting could be. I wanted to create something just as special, something infused with care, creativity, and personal expression. And now, quilting has become more than just a hobby—it’s part of my personal therapy, a way to focus, heal, and share something beautiful with others.
